Now I'm the Lunch lady
We made it through the first nine weeks!
I had to adjust a few areas in our life with the kids at home when I am working remotely.
Here are my top 3 tips for those whose coworkers are their children who work in different departments.
1. Make sure you have a system of accountability at home.
We have a whiteboard that is only for posting what daily homework is due with the dates. This way, we all take part in daily mini-goals. What is one system you have in place?
2. Make sure you keep a schedule.
Kids use to a routine get up, catch a bus, get to the homeroom, got to the next class, etc. etc. What are 3 daily routines you have set at home? What do you want to add? Not going to lie I kinds dig being the lunch lady everyday at noon.
3. Make sure you communicate.
I have a set Mom faces or hand gesture used to make sure if I get an unexpected meeting that the kids know to don't interrupt. We also have a set area in the home for focus work for no interruptions. Putting up a sign that gives a readable notice that you're busy. Mainly, I let me know that I have meetings, so they now hold in that most critical question that is burning in their minds until a specific time. How are you communicating interrupted time?
Here is one extra ... All TVs are off, no video games or phones until lunch time and after school when all chores and homework are completed.
